Sixty-Seven
A sky more blue – growing up in the 50’s
Cars had class and made up your image
Girls, neat and pretty – so true to their guy
Healthful, clean living – good, to live by
Then came the 60’s and put to the test
Murder and conflict . . . much civil unrest
Exploring the wonder of freedom’s delight
Naked in splendor as clothes fell from sight
Beach Boys and Beatles make music so right
TV and movies made life seem too perfect
And none could live up to those expectations
But the class of Sixty-Seven moved on into life
With hopes of goals reached, success without strife
And now they’ve reached Sixty . . . sooner than thought
Old tales of glory days becoming far-fetched
Grandchildren, smart . . . exceed expectations
The Class of ’67 – had so many dreams
Becoming Senior Citizens wasn’t among them
